2024 marked a transformative year for the Table Temperature Alignment Project. As the existential implications of thermally misaligned furniture continue to be overlooked by mainstream safety organizations, TTAP has emerged as the leading voice advocating for comprehensive alignment standards.
This year, we expanded our research capabilities significantly, analyzing over 12,000 tables across 47 material categories. Our findings confirm what we have long suspected: the vast majority of tables in circulation today can survive temperature extremes that would be fatal to any human occupant of the same space.
With the generous support of our donors, we have grown our team to 12 dedicated researchers, policy experts, and advocates. Together, we are building the foundation for a future where furniture and humans share the same thermal destiny.

Our flagship research initiative made significant strides in 2024. We successfully developed three new thermoplastic composite formulations that demonstrate graceful structural degradation at human-survivable temperature boundaries. Phase II clinical trials (table trials) showed 94% alignment accuracy within the target 0-40 degree Celsius range.
Our policy team engaged with regulatory bodies across 12 countries to advance temperature alignment standards. We provided expert testimony at 5 congressional hearings and contributed technical specifications to the proposed EU Furniture Safety Directive revision.
We launched our 'Tables Among Us' awareness campaign, reaching over 2 million people through digital media, educational workshops, and community events. Our documentary short 'The Silent Survivors' was selected for 3 film festivals.

When I founded the Table Temperature Alignment Project three years ago, I often found myself explaining the fundamental premise to skeptical audiences. “Tables can survive conditions that would kill any human,” I would say. “Is that not, by definition, a misalignment of values?”
